Pam's Classroom

Pam called and asked me if I would like to come down this week and help her set up her classroom. Do you think she could have stopped me? I was so excited to see where she would be teaching and how her classroom looked.
Well as usual we had a great time organizing and setting up the room but...I forgot to take pictures. Here are the only ones I got......

It is a great room, very large and almost brand new. I just don't know how she will be able to do labs there. She said there is a possibility of switching with another teacher on certain days or just doing the best she can. I know she will be a good teacher.
Good luck Pam!

Merrill's Birthday Part 3

Sunday was awesome!!!!!!!

We relaxed in the morning at the Bed and Breakfast waiting for all the rest of the bunch to drive up to Big Bear and join us for brunch.
Here we are at Stillwells for brunch.  They were very nice to our group and the food was wonderful!
Happy Anniversary Woody and Pam!
Then as a surprise we all headed up to the ski lift!  Boy was this daring. It was quite a feat getting some of us up as far as the ski lift.
Here is Merrill being pushed in his walker up the hill.  Look at that smile!
Here is his sister Thelma, she needed some help too. She laughed so much I thought she might fall out of her walker.
Everybody got loaded and off we went.   It was a beautiful view.
Jim got to take Joyce and Verlin for a quick ride before we headed back down to Lucerne Valley.  What a great weekend.   Thanks Merrill!

Merrill's Party Part 2

Here are the pictures from Saturday. This is the day we actually celebrated Merrill's Birthday.

We started out the day with apple puff pancakes at the Bed and Breakfast.  It was lots of fun.

Then it was packing up all the food for the day, cake and ice cream and heading down to Lucerne for a day of visiting and lots of good food and the party.

We had a feast as you can see.  Everyone had a great time.  I've never heard so many stories.

Birthday time......

Last but not least I helped him with cards and unwrapping gifts. He got lots of presents and was King for the day.   It was perfect, I've never seen Merrill smile so much!

Merrill's Birthday Party Part 1

As you all know we had a birthday party for Jim's Dad. He sure had a great time. On Friday everyone started to arrive. Here are some pictures from the first evening.

This is Debbie and Aunt Wanda
Here are Merrill and his sister Thelma.  He is having his 87th birthday and Thelma is 89.
Kevin and Leann visit with Uncle Verlin.
Merten and Jim also catch up with each other while they enjoy the shade in the front yard.
This last picture is Aunt Joyce and Uncle Verlin checking to see if their camera is working.

Summer Flowers in Big Bear

I took these pictures of the flowers around the house in Big Bear.  Aren't they beautiful?  I hope that they all look so nice when Jim's family comes to visit in a couple of weeks.
These are the plants that we have behind the garage.  It is really a shady area and we were soooo pleased to see so many of the plants come back after winter.
These are coral bells and marigolds near the garage.
The pink and red flowers in the back are dianthus.  They love the hot dry weather.
The baskets hanging on the front of the garage are red, white and purple petunias.  We put these out around the fourth.  They are still doing pretty well.
These are some really strange plants that we put in last year.   They are supposed to be native to our area and require very little water.  They even came back after winter.
